The Commerce Law Partners Story

Commerce Law Partners’ story dates back nearly four decades when Jonathan Scott’s father, Paul, transitioned to law school at the age of 48, after a successful career in real estate and his service in the Korean War.

In 1987, Jonathan was a graduate student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, tasked with mastering the university’s extensive law library to support their legal pursuits.

Upon completing their studies, Paul and Jonathan, joined later by Jonathan’s brother Robert, established Lawfinders, rapidly rising to become a leading legal research firm. Their guiding principle: “Prepare To Win.”

As a nationally recognized legal team, they assisted attorneys across the country in preparing for pivotal cases, focusing on securing advantageous positions whether at the state, appellate, or US Supreme Court levels. Jonathan gained a reputation as “a lawyer’s lawyer” for his meticulous approach to the law.

Today, under Jonathan Scott’s leadership, Commerce Law Partners continues this tradition of leveraging legal expertise as a strategic advantage, particularly in aiding successful business owners and serial entrepreneurs. Their motto remains “Prepare To Win™.”
